Eternal
High corrosion resistance: 13%+chromium+molybdenum, resistant to PVC/acetate corrosion, does not rust in humid environments.
Mirror polishing: ESR high purity, capable of achieving optical grade mirror finish (Ra ≤ 0.01 μ m).
Strong and wear-resistant: After quenching and tempering, HRC 48-52 has good hardenability and small deformation.
Easy to process: HB ≤ 250 in annealed state, with good cutting/discharging/welding performance.

Smelting: Electric furnace+electric slag remelting ESR, low sulfur and impurities, uniform structure.
Heating: Preheat to 600-650 ℃ (1-2 hours) → Heat up to 1180-1220 ℃, keep warm (about 1 hour per 100mm thickness), and prevent overheating/overburning.
Forging
Initial forging: 1100-1150 ℃; Final forging: ≥ 850 ℃ (crack resistance).
Deformation: upsetting+elongation, total forging ratio ≥ 3; The deformation of the pass is 15-30%, and it can be forged quickly with a light hammer.
Steel plate: thickness 50-500mm, width 50-1500mm, length 3000-5800mm.
Cooling after forging: Slow cooling (sand cooling/pit cooling) to below 500 ℃ to prevent cracking.
Heat treatment: Annealing (furnace cooling at 820-860 ℃, HB ≤ 250); Pre hardening (HRC 32-36) or quenching (oil cooling at 1020-1050 ℃)+tempering (480-530 ℃, HRC 48–52).
Thickness: 100-450mm
Width: 160-1300mm
Transparent/optical components: LED lenses, light guide plates, camera lenses, cosmetic boxes.
Corrosion resistant molds: PVC, PET, medical syringes, food container molds.
High life precision molds: electronic casings, automotive interior parts, long-term production without deformation or rusting.
What is Forged 136R Plastic Mold Steel Plate?
Forged 136R plastic mold steel plate is a high-chromium martensitic stainless mold steel (DIN 1.2083 / AISI 420 / 4Cr13) produced by multi-directional forging. The forged plate offers high density, uniform structure, excellent corrosion resistance and mirror polishing performance. It is widely used for precision plastic injection molds, especially PVC, optical and transparent parts.
What are the equivalent grades of 136R mold steel?
136R mold steel is equivalent to DIN 1.2083, AISI 420, JIS SUS420J2 and GB 4Cr13. When selecting a forged 136R plastic mold steel plate, buyers often compare these grades for corrosion resistance, polishability and hardness. ESR or VAR refining can further improve cleanliness and mirror polishing.
What hardness can Forged 136R Plastic Mold Steel Plate achieve?
It is usually supplied pre-hardened at 30–36 HRC for direct machining, or in annealed condition for further heat treatment. After quenching and tempering, it can reach approximately 48–54 HRC. This makes forged 136R plastic mold steel plate suitable for both long-run injection molds and high-wear applications.
What applications is Forged 136R Plastic Mold Steel Plate used for?
It is ideal for PVC injection molds, optical lens molds, transparent component molds, medical plastic molds, and precision injection molds requiring corrosion resistance and high mirror finish. The forged plate minimizes porosity and directional properties, helping extend mold life and maintain surface quality.
What sizes and quality documents are available for Forged 136R Plastic Mold Steel Plate?
Common sizes: thickness 6–600 mm, width up to 1,300 mm, length customizable. Surface can be black, milled, or ground. Mill certificate, chemical composition, hardness report, and ultrasonic test according to SEP 1921 E/e can be provided. Custom cutting and export packing are available.
