Eternal
P20 mould steel is currently the most versatile and best value-for-money pre-hardened mould steel in the plastics moulding industry.
The P20 mould steel forgings produced by Jiangyin Eternal Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. are manufactured using a solid forging process from steel ingots; unlike ordinary rolled sheets, they feature a dense internal structure free from porosity, inclusions or air pockets.
The products are supplied having undergone tempering and pre-hardening treatment, with a stable hardness of 28–32 HRC. Mould manufacturers do not need to carry out secondary quenching. The forgings can be directly subjected to rough milling, finish milling, polishing and texturing, thereby significantly shortening the mould production cycle and completely resolving common issues such as delamination in thick plates, pitting during polishing, machining deformation and dimensional drift in the later stages.
We support the delivery of large-sized monoblock forgings, non-standard irregular mould blanks and finished products with six-sided precision grinding. These are widely used in various plastic injection moulds for household appliances, automotive components, electronics and consumer goods.

We deliver superior mold steels through integral forging, ready-to-use pre-hardened condition, and tailor-made sizes—ensuring reliability, efficiency, and precision..
Repeated upsetting and drawing processes break down the internal loose grains, resulting in high material purity; the mirror-finish polish is free from pinholes and pitting, with a uniform and fine grain pattern, making it suitable for moulds for high-end cosmetic plastic parts.
Pre-hardened to the required hardness at the factory, with uniform and stable hardness, eliminating the need for customers to carry out quenching and tempering. This prevents heat treatment-induced deformation, cracking and rework due to straightening, thereby significantly improving mould-making efficiency.
We supply forged blanks, rough-milled blanks, six-sided precision-ground blanks and finished products, in accordance with customer requirements. We offer customized dimensions with a maximum width of 1,800 mm, a maximum thickness of 600 mm, and a maximum unit weight of 20 tons to accommodate diverse mold design requirements
• Household appliance moulds: injection moulds for the casings of televisions, air conditioners, washing machines and small household appliances
• Automotive plastic moulds: moulds for interior trim components, door panels, dashboards and plastic components for vehicle lights
• Electronics moulds: moulds for chargers, remote controls, power banks and precision plastic structural components
• Consumer packaging moulds: moulds for cosmetics cases, storage boxes, bottle caps and plastic containers
• Blow moulding and extrusion moulds: moulds for plastic bottles, pipes and profiles
What is the difference between P20 forgings and standard rolled sheets?
Rolled sheets are only suitable for thin materials; thick sheets are prone to delamination, porosity and polishing blisters. P20 forgings undergo multi-directional forging, resulting in a dense and uniform internal structure. When used in thick-walled moulds, they offer far superior polishing, surface finish and stability compared to rolled sheets, making them suitable for high-quality, large-scale moulds.
Does P20 require heat treatment?
Our P20 is supplied pre-hardened and tempered to 28–32 HRC as standard. It is ready for machining upon receipt and requires no quenching or tempering. If annealed blanks are required, these can be customised to order.
How should one choose between P20 and 718H?
For standard appearance parts, small to medium production runs and budget-conscious projects, P20 is the preferred choice, offering excellent value for money; for high-end mirror finishes, demanding surface patterns and long-term, high-volume production, we recommend upgrading to 718H.
Will the forgings warp after machining?
No. The products undergo multiple stress-relief and tempering stabilisation treatments, resulting in extremely low internal stresses. Dimensions remain stable after precision machining, and the parts are unlikely to warp or shift out of position.
Can you provide formal acceptance documentation for factory audit purposes?
Yes, we provide a complete set of material certificates, non-destructive testing reports, hardness test reports and certificates of conformity, which can be used directly for customer warehousing, archiving and acceptance.
