Eternal
55NiCrMoV7 (material number W-Nr. 1.2714) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-vanadium hot work tool steel that meets the ISO 4957-2018 standard. As a classic grade of hot work die steel, it is well known for its excellent high-temperature toughness, good hardenability, and strong resistance to thermal fatigue. It is a benchmark material for hot forging dies, extrusion tools, and die-casting molds.
The 55NiCrMoV7 Hot Work Tool Steel produced by Jiangyin Eternal Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. is made using an electric furnace plus vacuum degassing refining process, combined with mature forging technology. This ensures a dense and uniform internal structure, making it suitable for tough working conditions involving high temperature, high pressure, and impact loads.

Physical Properties (Typical Values)
| |||||
Soft Annealing
Heat to 650–700°C, hold, then furnace cool to approximately 500°C followed by air cooling. Hardness: ≤ 248 HB.
Stress-Relieving Annealing
Carried out after rough machining. Heat to 600–650°C, hold (approximately 2 hours per 25mm of section thickness), then furnace cool to 500°C and air cool.
Hardening (Quenching)
Preheating: Two-stage preheating at 600–650°C and 850–900°C
Austenitizing: 830–890°C (recommended range: 850–880°C)
Quenching media: Oil, pressurized gas (N₂), or air. Immediate tempering is required once the workpiece cools to approximately 100–150°C to prevent cracking.
Tempering
Heat uniformly to the target temperature, hold (approximately 2 hours per 25mm of section thickness), then air cool.
Double tempering is strongly recommended, with cooling to room temperature between each tempering cycle.
