32CrMoV12-28 (material number 1.2365) is a Cr-Mo-V alloy hot work tool steel that meets the ISO 4957:2018 standard. It is designed for applications that demand very high performance in terms of high-temperature strength, resistance to softening during tempering, and resistance to thermal fatigue. Because of its excellent overall properties, this material is widely used in demanding conditions such as non-ferrous metal die casting, hot forging, and extrusion forming.
Compared with the traditional material X37CrMoV5-1 (1.2343/SKD61), 32CrMoV12-28 has a higher Mo content (2.5-3.0%), which greatly improves its high-temperature strength and tempering stability. In addition, forgings made of this material have excellent resistance to thermal fatigue cracking and can be cooled with strong water during operation. This is very important for improving the production efficiency and service life of molds.
